COVID Policy
The Festival Retreat is a singing event with many opportunities for close connection and communion. We therefore want everyone who joins us to feel as safe and relaxed as possible. With this in mind, while we will adopt COVID policies in line with government guidelines, we will also reserve the right to adjust our policies to meet our communities' needs.
As of this date, according to government guidelines, you do not need to be vaccinated to participate, or to take a lateral flow test before arrival. You are also not legally required to isolate if you test positive, and contacts of people infected with COVID do not have to self-isolate.
We would like to ask, however, that if you experience COVID-19 symptoms (a high temperature, new and persistent cough, or a loss or change in taste or smell), even if these are mild, or test positive for COVID within 5 days of the event, please do not come. If you test positive during the festival, we ask that you self-isolate. We encourage everyone to use hand sanitizer and wash their hands frequently. We will ventilate the rooms when possible and Penny Brohn staff will also regularly wipe down communal spaces.
While we hope that by October, COVID will be a manageable part of our everyday lives, we are committed to adjusting our policies should the situation change.
